Mark Bunge

Mark Bunge is a vice president in Hart Research. Since joining Hart in 1998, Mark has become one of the firm’s experts in advanced statistical analysis, and one of the pioneers in Democratic voter microtargeting.

Mark has led polling efforts for a diverse range of political candidates and labor unions, educational institutions and nonprofits, and media outlets and corporations, including the AFL-CIO, SEIU, Senator Robert Byrd, Congressman Dave Obey, EMILY's List, Sierra Club, Microsoft, Harrah's Entertainment, Comedy Central, the American Cancer Society, and Amnesty International. In addition, Mark conducts the firm’s polling on behalf of MTV’s “Choose or Lose” campaign, aimed at increasing voter participation among young people.

Mark’s work on behalf of the University of California, the Alliance for a Better California, gubernatorial candidate Steve Westly, Preschool California, and others has explored the attitudes of voters, legislators, leading activists, and niche communities in California’s complex multicultural environment.

Mark is a magna cum laude graduate of James Madison University. He lives in Los Angeles, and when he’s not working, he is in the mountains skiing, hiking, or rock climbing.
