Jay Campbell

Jay Campbell is a vice president at Hart Research. He has worked at Hart Research since 1996, when he joined the firm’s data analysis department. After a nearly two-year hiatus from the firm, during which he worked as a staffer at Rob Reiner’s I Am Your Child Foundation (now Parents’ Action for Children) in Los Angeles, Jay returned to Hart Research as head of the data analysis department.

Jay has been an analyst since 2000, conducting research for nonprofits, labor unions, political campaigns, and corporations. He specializes in research in the nonprofit/advocacy arena, having worked with such clients as the Human Rights Campaign, Pre-K Now, the Gill Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse America, New York State United Teachers, Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders, the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, and Kansas Action for Children.

He has also conducted a great deal of research on and for the media, counting Comedy Central, Maxim Magazine, MTV Networks, CNBC, and the Entertainment Software Rating Board among his clients. Notably, in partnership with Republican pollster Bill McInturff, Jay manages Hart Research’s regular polling for NBC News and The Wall Street Journal.

Jay graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1996 with a degree in political science. He has lectured at the University of Pennsylvania and has been quoted on politics and public opinion by MSNBC.com, The Wall Street Journal on-line, The Advocate, and dozens of local and regional newspapers.
